This site is an attempt by a retired software engineer, lifelong woodworker and hobbyist ("maker", I guess) to hopefully sell a few semi-unique items as well as show some of the pieces I have made over the recent years. The name of this site reflects my interest in things that move. The motion may be generated by gravity, springs or electric motors. My inspiration comes from many sources, but these days, mainly from spending way too much time on YouTube. I make no claims of originality, and will state whether the piece was a (digital) design I purchased, an inspired design from the Web or one I cobbled together from many different ideas. I don't use AI in any part of the process, not because I dislike AI (although I find it extremely worrisome in many respects), but because I feel that the design and construction of a piece should use the creativity of the maker as much as possible.

In addition to kinetic objects, I also enjoy building simpler things using various materials such as wood, stained glass, soft metals and others, both singly and in combination. I frequently use my 2'x2' benchtop CNC router to obtain shapes and forms I wouldn't be able to make otherwise, such as gears and more abstract pieces. I simply don't have the patience anymore (if I ever did) to do these things with a scroll saw or bandsaw, but I admire people who can. My main goal is to produce something that is both pleasing and interesting to look at, without being contrived or pretentious. Since that is totally in the eye of the beholder, you get to decide if I succeeded or not.
